Working out is such a bad name for exercise. Of course our bodies are working hard but it should be something we WANT to do and not feel like is a chore or ‘work’ to fit it into your day. Now that the weather is (finally) starting to turn into spring its easier to take that exercise outside and fit it into your daily life and make it fun. You don’t have to walk or run endlessly on a treadmill to burn those calories. Lots of things help keep your body fit and active. Mowing the lawn burns a TON of calories (especially if you don’t have one of those assisted push ones-and no a riding lawnmower does NOT count) take a walk, play frisbee, run around trying to get a kite up in the air.

- take the dog for a walk
- play soccer with friends or family
- go for a hike
- try geocatching
- kayak or paddleboard
- set up a slip and slide baseball diamond in the back yard
- have a water fight/war with the neighbors
- go to a playground and actually play
- go to the pool and swim laps
- take a bike ride
- chase butterflies
- play kickball
You get the idea…play. Have fun. Keep moving and laughing. If you enjoy what you chose you will be far more likely to stick with it and see results.
