I know it’s tempting to run out of the house with a cup of coffee in hand and worry about food later. I admit to being guilty of this for years. But if you really want to take care of your body, breakfast is important.
Just like they teach you in elementary school, it really is the most important meal of the day. Eating before you start your day helps you stay more active, helps your body work more efficiently all day long, helps stave off cravings mid morning and can even help you make better choices for the rest of your meals all day long.
Just like you don’t expect your car to run well on the last few miles worth of gas in the tank, your body just wont perform well if you don’t give it fuel. Breakfast can be your average bowl of cereal or oatmeal, a smoothie or protein shake. It could be some eggs and toast, a bit of yogurt or some fruit but it does not have to be like that. If you are not a breakfast person – go ahead, break the rules! Have a salad or some leftovers, grab a cheese stick and some crackers. Its not the food itself but the amount of nutrition it packs that matters. Get creative and let’s see what everyone is eating!
